Born 21 October 1982 in Johannesburg, South Africa, Lynne is a painter & sculptor with exceptional talent. Her expression of light and movement are among the most provocative features of her work. From 1996 to 1999 she attended the “National School of the Arts” in Johannesburg and then in 2010, she spent one year studying classical drawing at the Florence Academy of Art in Italy.
Having an appetite for travel she has spent a great deal of her time painting on location in remote destinations throughout the world. In 2014, she exhibited a collection of life-sized portraits of the Khoisan/Bushmen of North-Eastern Namibia after spending time in their villages on two occasion.
Lynne is currently working on the study of horses and is exploring the subject both in sculpture and painting. She recently travelled to the south of France to paint the semi-wild horses of the Camargue and is currently creating body of work based on this subject.
Lynne is mostly interested in painting figurative work, portraiture, horse, as well as occasional nautical scenes. She has been influenced by: ‘the Impressionists’, John Singer Sargent, Sorolla, Van Gogh, as well as some more modern painters like Lucian Freud, Adriaan Boshoff, David A. Leffel, the teachings of Robert Henri and many more.
Lynne’s work has found a ready home in many local and international collections and her skill and popularity continues to grow.
